School Reopening Pushed Back to Sept. 14, Announces Dept. of Education

The Department of Education announced Monday that in keeping with Governor Albert Bryan's August 29 extension of the territory’s Stay-at-Home Order, the reopening of public schools has been delayed for one week, with classes beginning on Mon., Sept. 14, and not Tues., Sept. 8. All students will learn from home, as previously announced. 

Virtual orientations and a meeting for parents of students receiving Special Education services will be conducted during the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 4, as originally planned.

Distribution of laptops, Mifi devices, and desk/chairs has been rescheduled. Important dates to note: 

All school-based employees return 

  • September 8, 2020 

 

Distribution of laptops, Mifi-devices, desks & chairs  

September 9 –11, 2020  

 

First day of school for students  

  • September 14, 2020
