Governor Albert Bryan announced Monday that 10,000 stimulus checks totaling $9,426,324 were being placed in the mail today to be delivered to Virgin Islanders. The announcement, which Mr. Bryan said represented the first of multiple batches, came during the administration's weekly Covid-19 press briefing.
While this is just the first batch of checks from the second stimulus package, Mr. Bryan added that “more are going to come out every single week.”
He reminded residents that they have until March 15, 2021 to file their 2019 tax form to be eligible to receive the stimulus payment.
Mr. Bryan said the Bureau of Internal Revenue has opened a hotline to aid residents with information on stimulus payments and tax refunds. The hotline number is 340-714-9325.
