The Office of Disaster Recovery announced Wednesday that it has issued its third solicitation since March 2024, calling for highly skilled licensed contractors to provide construction services for forty-eight single-family, owner-occupied residential structures across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John.
The latest procurement, released on August 19, brings the total number of homes up for bids to 103, aiming to complete permanent repairs for residential structures damaged during Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
ODR said contractors interested in participating must attend a virtual pre-bid conference scheduled for Thursday, August 22, at 2:00 p.m., followed by mandatory site visits from August 27 to 29.
In addition to the solicitation, ODR said it has issued a continued interest survey, requesting EnVIsion Tomorrow applicants to update their contact and demographic information. This effort is part of ODR’s ongoing initiative to expedite the processing and prioritization of applications for assistance.
ODR Director Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien emphasized the importance of the survey in identifying displaced or disabled individuals or those living in dire conditions. "We need to identify displaced or disabled individuals or those living in dire conditions to prioritize assistance," she said. “We recognize our community’s unique and significant challenges and remain committed to completing repairs to all eligible homes.”
Applicants are encouraged to submit the survey form via email, mail, or by visiting ODR offices in St. Croix or St. Thomas. The survey and accompanying letter are available on ODR’s website in both English and Spanish.
