The Office of Disaster Recovery has issued a call to applicants of the EnVIsion Tomorrow Program, requesting their cooperation in updating their applications.

According to ODR, to ensure the most current contact and demographic information is available, the office has distributed a continued interest survey. This initiative is part of ODR’s ongoing efforts to expedite the processing and prioritization of applications for the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery’s (CDBG-DR) EnVIsion Tomorrow Homeowner Rehabilitation Program, which has seen seven years of slow progress, with an average of four homes a year.

ODR said that assumed programmatic management of the CDBG-DR program in November 2023, with the aim of accelerating the pace of assistance and ensuring efficient service delivery to all eligible applicants. Recognizing the significant challenges faced by the community, ODR says it is committed to providing timely and effective support.

"We understand the hardships that our residents have endured, and we are dedicated to making this transition to ODR as smooth and efficient as possible,” said ODR Director Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien. “The goal is to readily identify individuals who are displaced, disabled, or living in dire conditions to prioritize assistance.”

Letters have been mailed to all applicants, and recipients are asked to complete and return the enclosed form by August 9, 2024, according to the release.
