For four weeks, Teddy's Party & Rentals in Orange Grove worked behind the scenes to prepare the fourth annual "Ah Drive Thru Christmas", a display of the territory's culture adorned in Christmas lights.

The event was organized in partnership with the Crucian Cultural Group, which hosts a number of events on St. Croix during the Christmas season, culminating with the annual Limpricht Park Tree Lighting on King Street in Christiansted.

Hidden behind glass windows covered with packaging paper, Teddy Richards, owner of Teddy's Party & Rentals and his staff worked tirelessly to prepare the showcase. An incredible creative, Mr. Richards said once he was given a logo by the Crucian Cultural Group, he went to work.

This year's showcase celebrates the territory's 70th Crucian Christmas Festival, and Mr. Richards was lauded by attendees of Saturday night's event and is being praised on social media for the finished work. "We had to close it up so no one could come in because it's a lot of details," he said.

Vivian Ebbesen Fludd, chairwoman of the Crucian Cultural Group provided remarks ahead of the unveiling, promising residents and the diaspora an eventful season. "The four years have gone quickly, and next year will be the fifth year of the unfolding of an idea that we needed to bring forward to preserve, showcase and support our culture," she said.

The showcase will remain on display through Jan. 8, 2023, and is the first of several activities planned by the group. "There's no fee to join, all we need you to do is light up your cars, decorate your cars... and so that is what we'd be expecting to see this year," Mrs. Fludd said.

The Limpricht Park Tree Lighting event will be held on December 9th.
