A Taste of St. Croix Virtual Edition Virtual was held on April 29, 2021 By. TASTE OF ST. CROIX

The 21st Annual Taste of St. Croix returns to the Divi Resort on Dec. 2, in what is expected to be a full-fledged showcase as Virgin Islanders and visitors alike have come to expect.

According to Taste of St. Croix Founder Collin Hodge, the event will max out at 250 individuals so early registration is encouraged. Additionally, only vaccinated individuals will be accepted, a nod to the Covid-19 pandemic and the government's efforts to keep individuals safe as well as encourage vaccination.

In May, Mr. Hodge held what was dubbed "A Taste of St. Croix Virtual Edition," which the Consortium titled in its writeup on the event, "A Taste of What's to Come." At the time, Mr. Hodge said, "It was a called 'A Taste of St. Croix Virtual Edition' because we are hoping to do the 21st annual when the economy reopens and when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines give us an indication on how many people we can get together in groups."

The event will be held on Thursday, December 2 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Mr. Hodge said the showcase will highlight the diverse cuisine and culture of St. Croix and will feature the following:

  • The re-opening of the newly renovated and long time Taste St. Croix partner, Divi Carina Bay Resort
  • Wine, beer & spirits tasting
  • Showcase the V.I.'s culinary scene
  • Feature meals that are famous on St. Croix and the territory
  • Press conference
  • Live music

There will be two other events as part of the Taste of St. Croix experience. They include "Sunset on the Terrance" at Buccaneer Hotel, and "Bubblie Brunch" at The Fred in Frederiksted. Dates for those events were not provided.

According to the release, Taste of St. Croix was established in 2001 and started as a way to celebrate the diversity of St. Croix's culinary industry. "Now 20 years later this sell-out event is wildly popular and nationally recognized. With more than 40 restaurants, chefs, caterers, and farmers on the island participating annually, this is a great opportunity to see, taste and connect with the newest culinary trend sand who’s creating them," stated the release.
