ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department has announced that it is currently searching for a suspect involved in a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday morning in Questa Verde, resulting in one male victim sustaining gunshot injuries.
According to the VIPD, at approximately 8:50 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received several calls reporting a male gunshot victim found in the roadway near Questa Verde. Following the incident, the victim was promptly transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical treatment. According to the latest reports, he is in critical but stable condition.
The VIPD has identified the suspect in this shooting as 30-year-old Valatina Sanchez, a Hispanic female. Sanchez is described as being 5’4” in height, weighing about 160 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, and a light complexion. Witnesses last saw her wearing khaki knee-length pants and a dark-colored shirt, accompanied by a red or maroon handbag.
Sanchez is known to frequent the areas of Williams Delight and Estate Tamarind. The VIPD is actively investigating the case and urges anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Valatina Sanchez to come forward.
