ST. THOMAS — Police are investigating an assault that occurred at a bar in St. Thomas that left a woman badly injured and hospitalized.
According to the police report, on Saturday at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to a third-degree assault incident where a woman was beaten and slashed on her arms and face in the area of Bob's Bar, located Frydendahl.
Officers visited the Schneider Regional Medical Center where the female victim was receiving care and noticed that she appeared to be seriously injured.
The victim, a Hispanic woman in her early 30s, was allegedly assaulted by a female with a sharp blade and received very deep lacerations to her face and body, according to the report. The victim stated that she and her friend were at the bar enjoying several drinks when her fiancé’s ex-lover started to insult her. The victim stated that she told the suspect they should step outside to talk when the suspect pulled out what appeared to be a blade and attacked the victim and fled the scene.
This case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
