Woman Charged With Identify Theft, Forgery Against Elderly Woman Turns Herself In

ST. CROIX — Majorie Harry, the woman who was wanted by the V.I.P.D. on charges of identity theft and fraud against an elderly woman, turned herself in on Thursday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer  Toby Derima has announced. According to a V.I.P.D. official, Ms. Harry said she saw her picture on the Consortium and decided to surrender to law enforcement.

The arrest took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. and was conducted by detectives of the V.I.P.D.'s Economic Crimes Unit.

She was arrested for aggravated identity theft, forgery, obtaining money by false pretense, grand larceny, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

According to police, in June 2018, detectives initiated an investigation that revealed that Ms. Harry, along with her co-conspirator Ivia Rivera, allegedly forged an elderly female’s signature on documents and split the stolen money between themselves.

Unable to make bail of $100,000, Ms. Harry was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending her advisement hearing.
