ST. THOMAS — Police on Sunday morning arrested a woman in Estate Smithfield who allegedly strangled her boyfriend.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, officers responded to the domestic violence incident at around 7:44 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Eva Moorhead, 39, and identified her as the individual who had been accused of the assault. She was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence, according to Mr. Derima.

As per the territory's domestic violence laws, Moorhead was not offered bail, and she was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending her advisement hearing.
