ST. CROIX — A St. Croix woman was arrested Friday for allegedly using an online text messaging application to harass a coworker with threats, which led to the co-worker's resignation from her place of employment.
According to police spokesman Toby Derima, on Friday at around 7:37 p.m., detectives of the V.I.P.D.’s Economic Crimes Unit arrested 35-year-old Sharron Lopez of Louis E. Brown Villas, and charged her with harassment by written communication, cyber-stalking and cyber-harassment.
Mr. Derima said Lopez is alleged to have harassed a former coworker in January of 2020 by sending multiple threatening text messages using an online text application, causing the coworker to resign from her position.
The suspect was released after making bail of $1,000, and is expected to appear in court for her advisement hearing.
Lopez was previously arrested for allegedly creating over 200 telephone numbers through an online text messaging application to threaten and harass several individuals, including minors.
