ST. CROIX — Police on Thursday afternoon arrested a woman who allegedly assaulted another woman, left the scene in the victim's vehicle and wound up in a traffic accident.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Thursday at 2:46 p.m., police arrested Milagros Peguero, age 39 of Queen Street, Frederiksted on a warrant and charged her with first-degree assault, aggravated assault and battery, second-degree robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and destruction of property.
Mr. Derima said that on July 18, Peguero allegedly physically assaulted a female victim near the corner of King Street and Market Street, Frederiksted. Following the assault, she left the area in the victim’s vehicle and was involved in a collision, causing damages.
Unable to make bail of $75,000, Peguero was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advisement hearing.
