ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department has arrested 39-year-old Cleo A. Taylor, who investigators say was responsible for a violent assault in La Grange and is connected to additional incidents involving a white Mercedes-Benz sedan. Authorities executed an arrest warrant at her residence on Wednesday, bringing her into custody as broader investigations continue.

According to police, the case began on Friday, November 28, 2025, when an adult female entered the Police Operations Building bleeding from her head and hands. The woman reported that she had been jogging along the shoulder of the roadway in Estate La Grange when an unknown female driving a white Mercedes-Benz attacked her with a bottle. Following the investigation, police identified Cleo A. Taylor as the individual who assaulted the victim.

On December 10, 2025, a warrant for Taylor’s arrest was signed by a magistrate judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands. Her bail was set at $100,000.

The next day, December 11, members of the VIPD’s Patrol Division, assisted by the Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Special Operations Bureau, executed the arrest warrant. Officers traveled to Taylor’s residence, where she was detained without incident. She was transported to the Police Operations Building, where police say she declined to be booked.

Taylor faces a series of charges: first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree assault, simple assault & battery, and disturbance of the peace. Her Advice of Rights hearing is scheduled for Friday, December 12 in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands on St. Croix.

The VIPD noted that its investigation remains active as officers continue reviewing other reports involving the same white Mercedes-Benz sedan.
