VIPD Investigating Armed Robbery at Contant Towers Involving Suspects Impersonating Police Officers

Two masked suspects posing as police officers robbed a man at gunpoint near Contant Towers on March 28 before fleeing in a gray Acura. VIPD is seeking public assistance and urges anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred late Friday night in the vicinity of Contant Towers at around 11:30.

The victim reported that he was on his way home when he was approached by two masked individuals. The suspects, according to the VIPD, impersonated police officers before brandishing a weapon and robbing the man of his valuables. Following the incident, the suspects fled the scene in a gray Acura.

The suspects’ identities remain unknown at this time, and no arrests have been made. In addition to armed robbery, the suspects may also face charges of brandishing and exhibiting a deadly weapon, as well as use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence.

The VIPD is calling on the public to assist in the investigation.
