ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department on Tuesday classified the death of a woman found last month in a car partially decomposed in Vista Concordia a homicide.
When the initial press release was issued on August 22, the V.I.P.D. said, "This case has been classified as a possible homicide, pending an autopsy for cause of death."
In Tuesday's release, the police department stated, "The Virgin Islands Police Department is advising the community that the death of Lucy Lindquist, age 56 of Morningstar Circle found — deceased with stab wounds in a vehicle in Vista Concordia — on August 20 has been officially classified a homicide. According to the autopsy, the stab wounds Lindquist suffered caused her death."
The classification carried the territory's homicide count for 2021 to 33, the latest being the shooting incident at the Home Depot Parking Lot in St. Thomas that resulted in the death of 20-year-old Keoner Barron.
