ST. THOMAS — Ajani Prentice has been arrested in connection with two separate robbery incidents involving minors in St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department has announced.

The first incident occurred on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the area of Estate Thomas. A 17-year-old minor reported being robbed at gunpoint by a black male identified as Ajani Prentice. The victim, accompanied by his stepmother, informed the officers that the assailant was wearing grey sweatpants, a T-shirt, and a black stocking on his head during the robbery. The minor emphasized that he could easily identify Prentice as the perpetrator, as he was not wearing any face coverings at the time of the incident.

The second incident was reported on Saturday, December 23, 2023, by another minor who visited the Richard N. Callwood Command. This incident took place on Friday, December 22, 2023, around 1:30 p.m., near the Hospital Ground Spring Hill Condominiums. The victim said he had traveled to the area to meet a friend when he was approached by a black male wearing a black hoodie, a camouflage mask, and black sunglasses. During a physical altercation with the assailant, the minor managed to remove the suspect's mask and identified him as Ajani Prentice.

Prentice turned himself in to the Richard N. Callwood Command on Monday, January 22, following the circulation of a wanted poster. Prentice was informed of his constitutional rights but declined to make a statement regarding the case. He was processed, booked, and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is actively investigating this case, according to the VIPD. Police are encouraging anyone with information regarding these crimes to contact 911, Detective S. Donastorg at 340-774-2211 ext. 5610, or Crime Stoppers V.I. here.
