ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau on Sunday arrested two men, Anwar Gregory, 32, and Lavelle Campbell II, 27, following a violent altercation that occurred on April 7, 2023, in the Estate Contant area near the Starz Hotel.

Both suspects have been charged with third-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, brandishing and exhibiting deadly weapons, and disturbance of the peace.

In addition to the above charges, Lavelle Campbell II is also facing a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm. Gregory, son of Senator Donna Frett-Gregory and a resident of Frenchman's Bay, was held on a $25,000 bail, while Campbell, from Koko Strade, was held on a $50,000 bail. Both are awaiting further court action.

According to the VIPD, CIB became involved in the case after receiving information about a video circulating via WhatsApp, which showed the two suspects in possession of firearms during a heated argument. The video led to the identification and subsequent arrest of Gregory and Campbell.
