Victim Treated on Scene by Police Officers Following Shooting in Harvey Project; Multiple Apartments Impacted by Gunfire

ST. CROIX — At least one male individual sustained multiple gunshot wounds about his body Tuesday night during a shooting incident in Estate Bethlehem Village, also known as Harvey Project, V.I.P.D. spokesman Glen Dratte has announced.

Detectives arrived to the scene after being alerted by the 911 Emergency Call Center at about 9:01 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release. There, they met and spoke with the male victim, an adult, who was in the vicinity of his residence in Bethlehem Village. Police did not reveal details of the conversation.

The victim, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his back, legs, and elbow, was treated for his injuries on scene by officers and was later transported by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital, according to the V.I.P.D.

Multiple spent shell casings from high-powered rifles were found on the scene and damage was observed to the exterior walls of some of the apartments, Mr. Dratte said. 

There were no suspects as of Wednesday, however the V.I.P.D. said it has launched an investigation into the matter.
