Victim Pistol-Whipped During Armed Robbery at Christiansted Jewelry Store

VIPD says two masked suspects entered HAA Jewelers on Strand Street shortly after noon Thursday, robbed a man at gunpoint, and pistol-whipped him before fleeing on foot toward the Government Parking Lot. The Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating.

ST. CROIX — Authorities are investigating a violent robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon at a jewelry store in downtown Christiansted, according to a news release issued by the V.I. Police Department.

The incident took place on May 22 at approximately 12:34 p.m., when the 911 Emergency Call Center received reports of a robbery at HAA Jewelers located on Strand Street.

According to VIPD, the male victim told officers that he was robbed at gunpoint by two male suspects dressed in dark clothing. One of the suspects allegedly pistol-whipped the victim before both individuals fled the scene on foot, heading in the direction of the Government Parking Lot.

The VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) is actively investigating the case. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to contact 911, the CIB Tipline at (340) 778-4950, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
