ST. CROIX — An adult male is in stable condition following a shooting early Friday morning near the Divi Carina Casino on St. Croix, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on February 13, 2026. At approximately 12:11 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots fired in the vicinity of Divi Carina Casino. Moments later, dispatch received a second call reporting a gunshot victim.
When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a vehicle riddled with multiple bullet holes that had crashed into a palm tree. Police also found a large amount of spent shell casings scattered across the roadway near the Divi Carina Hotel.
The victim, identified only as an adult male, was transported by private vehicle to the Juan F. Luis Hospital emergency room. He sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his abdomen. According to police, he was admitted to the hospital and remains in stable condition.
The case remains active and under investigation.
