V.I. Waste Management Authority Employee Shot and Killed in Bolongo Bay

BOLONGO BAY, ST. THOMAS — A man was shot and killed on Friday in the Bolongo Bay area near dumpsters, according to the V.I. Police Department and the 911 Emergency Call Center.

The incident was reported at 3:36 p.m. after multiple calls came in about a male being shot. Upon arrival, the police confirmed the incident as a homicide.

The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Daryn Hodge, a resident of St. Thomas and an employee of the V.I. Waste Management Authority, according to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte. The victim was said to be on the job, stationed at a post when he was shot in the upper body, according to Mr. Dratte.
