ST. THOMAS — A V.I.P.D. police officer has been arrested for submitting a fake Covid-19 test result into the USVI Travel Portal, police spokesman Toby Derima confirmed to the Consortium following an inquiry. The Consortium was made aware of the arrest Monday morning.

Mr. Derima said the police officer, identified as 53-year-old Annette Foy, was charged with making a fraudulent claim upon the government, access to a computer for fraudulent purposes, use of false information, and filing or recording forged instruments.

The arrest was made on Sunday at 7:44 a.m., according to the police report. Mr. Derima said he did receive additional information about the arrest, as it was executed by the USVI Covid Task Force, led by Wanson Harris, V.I. Dept. of Health director of environmental health.
