ST. CROIX — A violent altercation at a nightclub in Glynn early Saturday morning has left two women wounded, with one being a minor, according to local authorities. Police are actively investigating the incident.
The situation came to light after a nurse from Juan F. Louis Hospital reported the assault to the 911 Emergency Call Center around dawn. Officers were dispatched to the hospital, where they found a minor girl with a puncture wound on her right thigh.
Upon questioning the girl in the presence of her mother, the minor disclosed that she had been at the Bliss nightclub when a skirmish broke out between a group of women she was not familiar with. Despite her attempts to intervene and defuse the situation, she was injured above her right knee. Realizing she was bleeding, her friends promptly took her to the hospital for treatment.
While at the hospital, authorities also spoke to a second woman, who had sustained three puncture wounds to her right thigh. The woman said she was exiting the nightclub when an individual with whom she'd had past altercations approached her aggressively. A physical struggle ensued, during which the assailant allegedly used a silver box cutter to stab her. She was also taken to the hospital by friends.
Police are continuing their investigations and urge anyone with information related to the incident to come forward by sending an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI here. As of now, no arrests have been made.
