Two St. Croix Men Charged in Connection With Domestic Violence-Related Incidents

ST. CROIX — Two St. Croix men were arrested on Friday in connection with separate incidents related to domestic violence, one for assaulting a domestic partner and the other for assaulting an elderly family member.

Man Assaults Domestic Partner, Evades Capture for Two Months

Police arrested Nickson T. Felicien, age 25 of Estate Whim on Friday and charged him with second-degree assault DV, and simple assault and battery, DV.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on July 2 a female victim reported that she was assaulted by her domestic partner Felicien in the Castle Coakley area, who allegedly strangled the victim during a domestic dispute. Mr. Derima said Felicien managed to evade capture until his arrest. 

Felicien was not granted bail in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence statutes, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.

Man Assaults Elderly Family Member

On Friday at 3:44 p.m., police arrested 19-year-old Annquan J. Wilkes of Harbor View Apartments and charged him with second-degree assault, DV, and simple assault and battery, DV. 

According to Mr. Derima, Wilkes admitted to assaulting an elderly family member on August 26 by holding the victim in a chokehold.

Wilkes was jailed without bail in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence laws pending his advisement hearing.
