Two Men Shot, Survive Bullet Onslaught in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — Two men were shot in St. Thomas on Saturday night while driving in Smith Bay, Police spokesman Toby Derima has announced.

According to Mr. Derima, on Saturday at approximately 9:36 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots fired in Smith Bay. Officers traveled to the scene and found several spent casings near the Picasso Coffee shop on Smith Bay Road. The 911 Emergency Call Center also notified officers of two male gunshot wound victims at the Schneider Regional Medical Center. 

The males reported that they were driving from Smith Bay when they were shot by an unknown gunman, Mr. Derima said. The males drove themselves to the hospital for treatment.

This case is presently under investigation. Anyone with any information regarding this crime is urged to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 extension 5557, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-8477, where you can receive a reward for your information.
