ST. THOMAS — V.I.P.D. officers at roughly 1:12 a.m. Sunday were dispatched to the Schneider Regional Medical Center by the 911 Emergency Call Center in reference to two gunshot victims.
According to a V.I.P.D. news release, the victims both reported that they were in the area of Gamble Gade in downtown Charlotte Amalie when they heard popping sounds, then realized they had been shot. The victims said they had no knowledge of who may have shot them.
The men received treatment for injuries that were not considered life threatening, according to Toby Derima, V.I.P.D. spokesman.
Anyone who may have seen something is asked to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 extension 5579 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS, where your information can earn you a reward.
