ST. CROIX — Two men were shot in Glynn near the now-shuttered cockpit on Friday night. The incident left both of the men dead — one on the scene and the other at the Juan F. Luis Hospital — according to a police report issued to the media.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on March 20 at around 9:04 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received reports of two individuals in the bush area of the old cockpit in Estate Glynn, and that they appeared to be covered in blood.
Officers arrived and found a male victim with no vital signs and another male victim with signs of life. The victim who was still alive was transported via ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, Mr. Derima said.
Both males suffered gunshot wounds about the body.
The victims were identified by next of kin as 29-year-old Malik Graham and 23-year-old Malcolm Francis.
This case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. The V.I.P.D. is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 911, the Crime TipLine at (340) 778-4950, or Crime Stoppers USVI with an anonymous tip here.
