Two Men Charged in Connection With Assault Incident

ST. THOMAS — Police on Monday morning arrested two men in connection with an assault incident that occurred on August 12, according to police spokesman Toby Derima.

According to the release, on Monday at roughly 7:30 a.m., Christopher Bryan, age 35 of Lerkenlund and Kevin Laplace II, age 27 of Lower Hull turned themselves in to police. Bryan and Laplace were identified as the men who assaulted another man in Mandahl Bay. Bryan allegedly attempted to strangle the victim, while Laplace aided in the assault by restraining the victim, according to police .

The men were charged with third-degree assault, simple assault and battery, and disturbance of the peace by fighting.

Unable to post bail of $50,000 each, Bryan and Laplace were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending their advisement hearing.
