ST. CROIX — Two masked men armed with guns robbed Yum Yum restaurant in Peters Rest at approximately 12:01 a.m. Saturday, holding an employee at gunpoint before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Police said the restaurant employee reported that two masked men entered the business armed with guns, held her at gunpoint and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene.
The employee was unable to provide a description of the vehicle or vehicles in which the suspects fled, according to VIPD. She was not injured during the robbery.
Detectives from the VIPD Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to the scene and were meeting with the employee as the investigation got underway.
Police had not provided additional information about the suspects or the circumstances surrounding the robbery at the time of the initial notification.
