Two Dead, Two Injured After Early-Morning Shooting at Luna Bar on St. Croix

VIPD confirmed that four people were shot after a 911 call around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, with two victims dead and two others receiving treatment as investigators work to determine a motive.

ST. CROIX — Two people are dead and two others are receiving treatment after an early-morning shooting at Luna Bar on St. Croix, the Virgin Islands Police Department confirmed Sunday.

According to information received by the 911 Emergency Call Center, the shooting was reported at approximately 3:45 a.m. on June 7. The caller reported that four people had been shot at the establishment.

The V.I. Consortium contacted VIPD, which confirmed the incident. Police said two of the victims succumbed to their injuries at the Juan F. Luis Hospital, while two others were being treated.

VIPD said the motive for the fatal shooting had not yet been determined and that the investigation remains ongoing.

According to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, the department is awaiting notification of next of kin before releasing the identities of the victims.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is asking anyone who has information or saw anything related to the shooting to contact 911, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or CIB at 340-778-2211.
