ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau is conducting an investigation after two deceased individuals were discovered in a burnt vehicle near the beach adjacent to the former Good Hope School in Frederiksted.

According VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, the discovery was reported to authorities at approximately 5:08 p.m. on Friday. Upon receiving the call, units from the VIPD's CIB Unit responded to the scene alongside the Forensic Unit and the Emergency Medical & Fire Services.
Investigators are currently processing the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The identities of the deceased individuals remain unknown at this time and are pending confirmation from the medical examiner's office.
The area surrounding the former Good Hope School has been cordoned off as law enforcement officials conduct a thorough examination of the site. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the possible cause of the fire or any potential suspects involved.
