ST. JOHN — Detectives with the V.I. Police Department have arrested 35-year-old Hyram Graneau Jr. and 38-year-old Ruben George in connection with a stolen vehicle. The arrests stem from an investigation conducted by the department's Criminal Investigation Bureau.

According to the police report, the case began earlier in 2024 when Ruben George was arrested in a separate incident involving an unlicensed firearm. The weapon was discovered inside a vehicle that was subsequently reported stolen by a rental car company.
Further investigation revealed that George, along with Graneau, conspired to unlawfully possess the stolen vehicle. George reportedly claimed that he had received the vehicle from Graneau. According to the VIPD, the evidence demonstrated the deliberate and coordinated actions of both individuals in committing the crime.
Both men have been charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and grand larceny. Their bail was set at $25,000 each.
