ST. CROIX — Tips provided to law enforcement through the anonymous USVI Crime Stoppers service has resulted in the confiscation of a firearm found in an abandoned building.
According to the V.I.P.D., on Friday at 9:30, following tips reported to Crime Stoppers USVI regarding possible illegal activity occurring around the John F. Kennedy Terrace housing community, an operation involving local and federal law enforcement officers was conducted.
During the operation, a search of an abandoned building in Kennedy Terrace revealed a rifle with an extended magazine. The rifle was collected for processing by VIPD Crime Scene Technicians. The operation also netted marijuana plants that were confiscated by federal agents.
