ST. CROIX — Police have arrested the third suspect in connection with a February 2025 shooting in Frederiksted, bringing to a close an eight-month investigation into an incident that triggered ShotSpotter alerts and sent officers rushing to the scene.

According to the V.I. Police Department, on Friday, February 28, 2025, at about 10:48 p.m., the department’s ShotSpotter gunfire detection system reported multiple gunshots in the Frederiksted Town area. Officers from the VIPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) responded immediately and recovered several spent shell casings from the scene.

Following an extensive investigation, detectives identified Ervin Noel Jr., Donnie Heywood, and Lijsabbattical Henry as the individuals suspected of involvement in the shooting. The findings were presented to the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands (St. Croix District), which on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, issued arrest warrants for all three men.

Two of the suspects, Heywood and Noel, were previously taken into custody and are currently being held at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility while awaiting trial.

On Wednesday, October 8, officers arrested the third suspect, 19-year-old Lijsabbattical Henry, without incident at a service station in the Frederiksted area. The arrest was carried out by members of the VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Henry now faces multiple charges, including first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying of firearms openly or concealed during the commission of a crime of violence, and possession or sale of ammunition.

His bail was set at $100,000, according to the arrest warrant. Unable to post bail, Henry was transported to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility, where he is being held pending his Advice of Rights hearing.

The VIPD said the arrests represent significant progress in addressing gun-related violence in the Frederiksted area.

All three suspects remain detained at the correctional facility as the case proceeds through the judicial process.
