ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place on Sunday at approximately 3:32 p.m. at KC's Mini Mart, located in the vicinity of Kings Alley Hotel in Christiansted Town.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers made contact with the cashier of the establishment, who reported that an unidentified individual approached the counter and brandished a silver handgun with a black handle. The suspect, speaking in a high-pitched voice, demanded, "Give me everything in the register." Complying with the request, the cashier placed all the cash into a black plastic bag that the suspect had brought along. The cashier was not physically harmed during the incident.
Security footage revealed that the suspect was wearing a long-sleeve light-colored shirt, blue jeans, black slippers, and a black scully cap. The suspect also wore a navy blue mask that had the words "Seaside Market" written on the front. Following the robbery, the suspect fled the scene in a western direction.
Although it remains unclear whether the suspect is male or female, the cashier noted that the suspect's facial features appeared feminine.
The case is currently being classified as a "first-degree robbery" and authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Investigations are ongoing.
