ST. JOHN — The St. John community was shaken by a frightening home invasion in the Power Boyd Plantation area earlier this month. Now, developments in the case suggest that one suspect involved has surrendered to authorities.

On the night of August 5, around 11:30 p.m., a resident was unexpectedly confronted at his home. As he answered a knock at his door, several armed assailants forced their way inside. Threatening him at gunpoint, they demanded cash and then proceeded to ransack his residence, escaping with an undisclosed amount of money and valuables.

In a turn of events, on the morning of August 16, 55-year-old Javier Feliciano presented himself at the Leander Jurgen Command. He has since been charged with several offenses including first-degree burglary, disturbance of the peace, threats, conspiracy, and using a dangerous weapon during a crime of violence.

Feliciano was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections after failing to make bail of $100,000, where he'll await his advise of rights hearing.

Authorities are actively seeking any additional information related to this crime.
