ST. CROIX  — A 19-year-old man from St. Croix was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated rape after admitting to police that he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old minor, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.

Mr. Derima said the man, Ralph Brewster of Bethlehem Village, was arrested at around 11:02 p.m. on Saturday.

His bail was set at $50,000, and Brewster was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center while bail and release conditions were being arranged, according to the police report.

The V.I.P.D. did not provide further details on the incident, most likely because of the sensitive nature of the case.
