ST. CROIX — Police on Saturday arrested a St. Croix man for violating a restraining order placed on him by his ex-girlfriend.
According to police spokesman Toby Derima, on Saturday at around 5:51 p.m., police arrested Hasani J. Hippolyte, age 25 of New Works, and charged him with contempt of court, domestic violence.
An investigation into the matter revealed that Hippolyte has a court-ordered restraining order, which prohibits him from contacting his ex-partner. Hippolyte, through his admission, violated the restraining order by calling and texting his ex-partner, police said. Hippolyte was placed under arrest.
No bail was set in this matter as per the territory’s domestic violence laws, Mr. Derima said. Hippolyte was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing.
