ST. CROIX — V.I.P.D. officers on Monday at approximately 6:05 p.m. arrested Hector C. Torres, Jr., age 28 of Estate Rattan, and charged him with third-degree assault, domestic violence and disturbance of the peace by threats, domestic violence, according to a news release.
Torres allegedly threatened a female with a firearm during a disagreement earlier that day. V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima was not sure what Torres's relation to the victim was.
Torres was not offered bail as per the territory’s domestic violence laws, and was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing, according to police.
