St. Croix Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Early Morning Stabbing Incident

ST. CROIX — A stabbing incident in the early hours of Wednesday has led to the arrest of Khalid A. Richardson, 36, on multiple charges, including first-degree attempted murder.

According to the probable cause fact sheet, the victim, Richardson's nephew, was rushed to the Juan F. Luis Hospital with severe internal injuries and underwent emergency surgery. 

Upon arrival to JFL, investigators discovered that the victim had sustained severe internal injuries and required emergency surgery. Further investigation revealed that the victim's uncle, Khalid Richardson, was responsible for the attack.

Richardson was apprehended by members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau and Patrol Units without incident. He was informed of his Miranda Rights but declined to provide a statement.

In addition to attempted murder, Richardson faces charges of first-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

His bail was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, Richardson was booked and transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility. He is awaiting his Advice of Rights hearing, scheduled for today at the V.I. Superior Court on St. Croix.
