ST. CROIX — A Sion Farm man turned himself in Tuesday afternoon to police after learning he was a person of interest in the shooting incident that occurred in Castle Coakley on Sunday morning.

V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima said Abijah Isaac, 20, of Sion Farm, turned himself in at about 3:13 p.m. Tuesday in connection with the incident that left three individuals — including a minor — injured. One of the three victims had to be airlifted for further treatment, Mr. Derima said, hinting at the severity of the injuries sustained during the shooting.

Mr. Isaac, who the V.I.P.D. said was out on bail after being arrested on Jan. 11 for second-degree burglary, was positively identified by witnesses as one of the persons who opened fire in the community, according to Mr. Derima.

Unable to post bail of $75,000, Mr. Isaac was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing.

The V.I.P.D. is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Police Tip Line at (340) 778-4950, or Crime Stoppers USVI with an anonymous tip here.
