Shootings in St. Thomas Leave Multiple Victims Injured

Multiple victims were injured during two shooting incidents in St. Thomas Thursday and Friday.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Thursday  at approximately 8:54 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Four Winds Plaza in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned a male gunshot victim was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center via private vehicle.

Witnesses reported hearing rapid gunshots and seeing an unresponsive Black male on the ground, Mr. Derima said. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds about the body.

Hospital Ground shooting

During the wee hours of Friday morning, a man was wounded by gunfire in Hospital Ground, Mr. Derima said.

According to the V.I.P.D. news release, at roughly 1:00 a.m. Friday, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a Black male, stating that he was shot near his residence in Hospital Ground.

Officers traveled to the area and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the scene and rendered medical assistance to the male’s injuries.

The male was transported via ambulance to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for further medical attention.
