ST. CROIX — A 25-year-old man was shot and killed late Wednesday afternoon in the Aureo Diaz Heights housing community, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Police were alerted to an unresponsive male at approximately 5:01 p.m., and upon arrival, VIPD officers discovered the man lying on the ground, showing no signs of life.
The initial examination revealed that the victim, identified by relatives as Daniel Sanes, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
The case is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The VIPD has not released further details about potential suspects or motives behind the violent act that led to the untimely death of Sanes.
