ST. CROIX — In a swift response to two robberies reported in Christiansted on February 20, law enforcement officials have arrested 28-year-old Koi Thomas.
The incidents, reported to the 911 Emergency Call Center at around 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., prompted an immediate investigation by the V.I. Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
Victims of the robbery provided detailed accounts of their experiences, leading detectives to canvass the area and secure surveillance images of the suspect identified as Thomas. Coincidentally, Thomas had been detained earlier that day for a separate larceny case in the Gallows Bay area and was already in custody at the John Bell Correctional Facility.
On February 22, CIB detectives proceeded to the correctional facility, where they formally arrested Thomas on two counts of third-degree robbery. Following his arrest, Thomas was processed at the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station, with bail set at $25,000.]
Thomas's court hearing was scheduled for Friday, but as of Sunday court documents regarding his case were not public.
