ST. THOMAS — New details have emerged in an ongoing homicide investigation in St. Thomas, with the victim identified as 37-year-old Taurian Deveaux by her father.

Ms. Deveaux was owner of Boink Global and a rising star in business. In October 2022, she converted her store into a full service beauty supply operation. "We're still serving our customers with the best lifestyle products on the market and will use our brick and mortar location to build capital for expansion through the vehicle of the beauty supply industry," reads a post on the store's Facebook page.

This latest incident brings the total number of homicides in the U.S. Virgin Islands for 2023 to 16, with 9 occurring on St. Thomas and 7 on St. Croix.

The V.I. Police Department had previously confirmed the homicide after an unresponsive woman was discovered with a gunshot wound in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency Medical Technicians arrived at the scene and pronounced her dead at approximately 3:01 a.m. Saturday.

The victim's identity remained unknown until her father came forward with the information. As of now, the suspect(s) involved in the homicide remain unknown, and no arrests have been made, according to the VIPD.
