Police Report Deadly Shooting in St. Thomas; Victim Identified

Police Working to Uncover Motive and Suspect in Shooting of Michael Ramos De La Cruz

ST. THOMAS — A homicide investigation has been launched following a fatal shooting incident Sunday night, according to the VIPD. The department's Major Crimes Unit is seeking the public's assistance in gathering information related to the death of 32-year-old Michael Ramos De La Cruz.

Authorities were alerted to the shooting at approximately 11:32 p.m., with initial 911 calls reporting multiple gunshots fired in the Bjergs Gade region, close to Conde Bar. Upon arrival, first responders discovered an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Technicians at the scene confirmed the absence of vital signs, pronouncing the individual deceased.

The victim was later identified by family members as Michael Ramos De La Cruz. Details regarding the suspect or suspects remain unknown as the investigation proceeds.
