ST. CROIX - The Virgin Islands Police Department on Wednesday afternoon identified the victim of a fatal accident that occurred Tuesday night on the East End Road. The police force also arrested the driver of the off-road vehicle and charged her in connection with the incident.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, 55-year-old Richard M. Boehm of Cane Bay was riding a motorcycle heading west when he collided with an off-road vehicle that was traveling east. Boehm succumbed to the injuries he sustained on the scene.
Mr. Derima said Traffic Investigation Bureau officers arrested Azalea Fierros, age 23 of Arleta, California, and charged her with negligent homicide by vehicle. Fierros was the driver of the off-road vehicle.
Bail for Fierros was set at $25,000. She was allowed to post 10% and was released.
