ST. THOMAS — Police say a domestic dispute in Anna’s Retreat ended with two people arrested after an altercation that involved a knife and conflicting reports about who initiated the violence. Officers were called to the scene on the evening of December 4 following a report of an assault in progress.
When officers arrived, they met with Junior Moricette, who told them he had been attacked with a knife. Moricette said the incident began when he attempted to leave the residence, and Milord Medzar allegedly tried to prevent him from doing so. According to him, the argument escalated until Medzar grabbed a knife and stabbed him.
Medzar gave officers a different account. She said that Moricette hit her first and that she used the knife in retaliation. Police determined that before picking up the knife, Medzar had thrown a bottle that struck Moricette.
Despite reporting the attack, Moricette declined to let officers enter the home to search for the knife involved in the incident.
Both individuals were ultimately arrested and charged with third degree assault as a crime of domestic violence, along with disturbing the peace.
Records were not yet available indicating the results of the advice of rights hearings held for both parties last Friday. Their next court appearances are scheduled for December 19.
