ST. CROIX — A shooting incident rattled residents residing in the Peter's Rest community near El So Bar and Restaurant on Wednesday night, however no injuries were reported.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, about 20 shots were heard, prompting the 911 emergency call center to immediately dispatch officers to the scene after being notified of the incident.
Police cordoned off portions of a road leading to an area of Peter's Rest on the south side of El Sol, as they investigated the matter — searching for shell casings and other evidence.
Residents were also seen outside their homes looking on as the investigation continued. The incident disturbed an otherwise quiet night in the area.
