The BVI's Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on Sunday retrieved seven packages from the water near the Road Town ferry terminal, following reports of floating packages in the area.

The packages, which are currently suspected to contain cocaine, are under examination and processing by officers.

The RVIPF has called on the public to assist with their investigations. Anyone with knowledge regarding the origin of these packages or of individuals in possession of similar packages is urged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

Investigations into the matter continue.
